Emily's Visit (Budapest & Barcelona)

My best friend, Emily, came to visit me over her spring break since she is a teacher! We went to Budapest and Barcelona. In Budapest we saw the St. Stephen's Basilica, Vaci Street, Parliament, Herend Boutique, 1000 Tea Shop, Central Market, Chain Bridge and much more! Barcelona was absolutely beautiful! We were there for five days, so we were able to see a good amount of sights. We spend the first day on the famous street Ramblas. This street is full of tourist and street performers. We did the Fat Tire Bike Tour the next day which was a great way to orient ourselves with the rest of the city. The tour took us all over Barcelona and even down to the coast. The following day we took a train to the coastal town of Sitges. This is a quiet little town on the beach. We spent the day eating Tapas and drinking wine on the beach! It was very relaxing! Friday we went to the huge market off Ramblas and picked out fruits, cheese, and bread for lunch. The market was amazing with all the fruits and vegetables. We took our lunch to the Monjuic Park and had a picnic. From the park we were able to see an incredible view of the city. Our last day we attempted to tour the Sagrada Familia Church, but the line wrapping the building deterred us. We spent the afternoon in Parc Guell. This is a very colorful and unusual park. We had such a great time!
